In celebration of the milestone of moving on to ‘big school’, Bet Shalom Christian School held a graduation ceremony for its Gr R learners on Wednesday, 18 November. The event was held at the church.
Learners were excited to parade in their graduation gowns, while each one had the opportunity to hand over a rose to their parents as a symbol of thanks for their support in completing a school year.
Pastor Lizelle Calitz, speaking on behalf of the school, said they appreciate parents’ assistance especially this year, as 2020 was tough on everyone.
“This year, parents had to be teachers as well as parents. You need to celebrate the year and cheer on your children.”
She says watching the children grow daily, she is confident that they have learnt vital skills that will help them handle what’s in store.
