Reservoir levels drop to ‘worrying’ levels, water tankers deployed to provide relief
The water level of most of the city's reservoirs have dropped below 2%.
POLOKWANEÂ – The Polokwane Municipality is once again appealing to the public to use water sparingly, this after it was earlier announced that the water levels in a majority of the reservoirs in the city and surround areas are “strained”.

As of this morning (Sunday, 15 November), both Krugersburg 30Ml Dome and Flat reservoirs are sitting at a worrying 0%, Potgieter is at 2% while Krugersburg 50Ml and Seshego have declined to below 12%.

“With the increasing scarcity of water everywhere, it is important for all of us to embrace the value of this important resource and make water conservation a way of life and avoid water wastage. Water is the basis of our daily life. Water conservation is every water consumer’s responsibility and way of taking care of future water users because if we conserve today, there will be a better tomorrow. When one wastes water, one is taking water that other people might need. When one uses water carefully, one leaves more water for other people to use,” reads a statement issued by the municipality.
