R100 000 reward offered for information in murder of Polokwane estate agent

50-year-old Nomvula Joyce Monareng was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant on 14 October.

POLOKWANE – A R100 000 reward has been offered for information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of 50-year-old Nomvula Joyce Monareng.

Monareng was attacked and stabbed by an unknown assailant while in her vehicle in Seshego, Zone 8 on 14 October.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the vehicle stopped at an intersection and the badly wounded woman emerged from it and collapsed nearby. An unknown man wearing yellow overalls also jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.

At the time, Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapleo says the police received a call from a member of the community about the body of a woman lying in the street. “Police arrived on the scene to find the deceased lying on the street next to a grey sedan. She had multiple stab wounds and was certified dead on the scene by the emergency medical personnel.”

Her son, Tshepo earlier told Review that he spoke to his mother minutes before she was attacked, as they had plans to get together. “In our last conversation, she told me she had just wrapped up work in Seshego and asked me to meet up with her at her flat. I called her when I got there and she answered but all I could hear were weird noises in the background before the call was disengaged. After that her phone was off. I later received messages from her phone, I tried to stall, buying as much time as possible as I alerted the police. Unfortunately, by the time I got to the scene she had passed away.”

Manreng was an estate agent in Polokwane and a well-known gospel artist in Limpopo. No arrests have been made as yet.
