SA Covid-19: 1 241 new cases, 74 more deaths

Recoveries in South Africa now stands at 659 249.

As of 3 November, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in South Africa is 728 836. According to the National Institute of Communicable Disease, 1 241 new cases were recorded since their last report. The number of active cases is 50 048.

The country recorded 74 more Covid-19 related deaths; 35 from Eastern Cape, 11 from Western Cape, eight from Northern Cape, eight from Gauteng, six from the Free State and six from KwaZulu-Natal. Thus far, 19 539 people have died from the virus.

With 659 249 recoveries, the country’s recovery rate is at 90%.

The NICD says 15 692 tests were conducted since their last report. The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 4 868 610, of which 2 800 843 were done by the private sector and 2 067 767 were done by the public sector.
