Police launch manhunt for robbery suspect(s)

A manhunt has been launched for an unknown amount of suspects who were involved in an armed robbery at a local clinic on Thursday

LIMPOPO – The incident, in which a 42-year-old security guard was robbed at gunpoint, happened outside a Nhlaniki Clinic in the Giyani policing area on  Thursday, 29 October.

It is alleged the suspect(s) attacked the security guard while he was manning the gate in front of the clinic early this morning. “The suspect(s) pretend to be very sick and when the guard tried to assist, he was held at gunpoint, was handcuffed and robbed of two cell phones and his firearm,” said Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The police were notified about the incident, reacted swiftly and commenced with the initial investigations.

The suspect(s) are still unknown and there is no arrest yet, Ngoepe added.
