Woman (37) and worker (30) robbed, assaulted on farm near Modjadjiskloof

The suspects managed to take cellphones, a laptop and several pairs of shoes.

LIMPOPO – A manhunt has been launched for three men who robbed a woman (37) and her domestic worker (30) at Fritsgewacht farm, near Modjadjiskloof in the early hours of this morning.

According to Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, the woman was asleep when her security alarm went off.  “She was about to go outside and investigate when two men, armed with dangerous weapons, broke the door and forced their way into the house,” Mojapelo explained.

He said the men assaulted her and demanded money and jewellery. “The victim tried to fight back but she was overpowered and the assault continued. A third suspect, also armed with a sharp instrument, came in dragging the domestic worker, whose hands were tied.”

Mojapelo confirmed that the women were robbed of cellphones, a laptop and several pairs of shoes. “Police and emergency services personnel responded swiftly and the women were taken to hospital,” he added.

Mojapelo said a case of house robbery was opened and that no arrests have been made yet.

“Police investigations continue and anyone with information that can lead to the apprehension of the suspects is requested to contact WO Curven Shikwambane at 082 414 2736, the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or their nearest police station,” Mojapelo concluded.
