LIMPOPO – The assault case against a 41-year-old man was postponed and the accused released on a warning, in the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 15 October. The man faces charges of assault and crimen injuria after he allegedly insulted and pepper sprayed a paramedic during an apparent road rage attack earlier this week.
The said incident happened at the Baobab Toll Plaza on the N1 outside Musina, at around 06:30 on Tuesday, 13 October. According to an earlier statement the paramedic was on duty, transporting patients to Tshilidini Hospital. It is alleged the victim was insulted at various occasions and then pepper sprayed after an argument with the accused. The man was arrested on Wednesday and warned to appear in court.

In an earlier statement, MEC, Phophi Ramathuba condemned the act and said that the department is disappointed by the ‘level of disrespect’ shown to medical personnel.
