POLOKWANE – A earlier pedestrian accident on the R71 between Polokwane and Mankweng resulted in utter chaos on the road.
In video footage that was shared on social media, motorists can be seen driving over the middle man into the oncoming lanes in order to the traffic congestion.
According to Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala, Spokesperson for the Department of Transport the incident happened near Mankweng around 22km from Polokwane. A male pedestrian died on the scene.
Stuck on R71 traffic. A man was hit by a car & died on scene.

The road has since been cleared and traffic is flowing smoothly.
