Limpopo’s Covid-19 cases rise to 15 586, with 391 deaths

A total of 121 new cases were reported in the last 24-hours.

LIMPOPO – According to the latest stats issued by the Department of Health, the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in the province stands at 15 586, of which 579 are active.

A total of 14 616 people have recovered and 391 deaths have been recorded.

A total of 121 new cases were reported in the last 24-hours, of which the majority were recorded in Polokwane.

Capricorn district recorded 35 new cases, of which 32 were in Polokwane, two in Lepelle Nkumpi and one in the Blouberg Municipality.

A total of 32 new cases were recorded in Vhembe, 13 in Collins Chabane, 12 in Thulamela, six in Makhado and one in Musina. In the Waterberg district; 10 new cases were reported  in Lephalale, five in Modimolle-Mookgophong, five in Bela Bela, four in Mogalakwena and one in Thabazimbi.

The Mopani district recorded 24 new cases, eight in Ba-Phalaborwa, seven in Tzaneen, six in Letaba and three in Giyani.

The Sekhukhune district recorded five new cases, four in Tubatse Fetakgomo and one in Makhuduthamaga.

As of 3 October, 98 159 tests have been conducted, 48 202 in the public sector and 49 956 in the private sector.
