[VIDEO] Hawks arrest Limpopo municipal manager
Investigations into fraud charges started in 2018 and related to the improper awarding of contract.
POLOKWANE – A municipal manager attached to a municipality in Limpopo, was earlier arrested by the Hawks on charges relating to fraud, corruption and theft.
He was apprehended at a restaurant in Polokwane and accompanied to the Police Station.
Hawks Spokesperson, Capt Matimba Maluleke says the investigations into the charges started in 2018 and related to the improper awarding of a contract in the agricultural sector worth R4,8 million.
The Hawks have been working with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to gather evidence that will ensure prosecution, according to Maluleke.
The man is set to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s court on Monday.
