Thunderstorm activity anticipated for Limpopo this week

According to Storm Report SA, a weak cold front which made landfall on Monday afternoon will aid in the development of thunderstorms over Limpopo and Mpumalanga today

POLOKWANE – Thunderstorms are expected in the province from today.

According to Storm Report SA a weak cold front which made landfall on Monday afternoon, will aid in the development of thunderstorms over Limpopo and Mpumalanga on Tuesday.

In addition, due to a strong cold front expected by Wednesday evening over the Western Cape, strong thunderstorms over Limpopo, Gauteng and Mpumalanga will develop on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The South African Weather Service is forecasting mild temperatures as well as overcast conditions with rain for the rest of the week. 

Their forecast includes a 30% chance of rain for the city all week long with thundershowers expected on Tuesday and Saturday. 

People’s Weather’s forecast predicts much cooler temperatures for the rest of the week with Saturday and Sunday peaking at just 16 degrees. 

Their forecast also suggests rain from today through to Saturday. 

Storm Report SA also predicted another cold front by next week Wednesday, 7 October, but said the system is still developing.
