Limpopo Covid-19 cases surpass 15 000 mark

The most new cases were recorded in Polokwane.

In the last 24 hours, the Limpopo Health Department says 49 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded. The total number of cases is currently at 15 135, of which 510 cases are active.

Thus far, 386 people have died from the virus. According to the latest figures issued by the department, 14 239 people have recovered.

Capricorn district recorded the most new cases (27) followed by Waterberg (11), Mopani (8), Sekhukhune (2) and Vhembe (1). Of this, Polokwane had the most new cases (23) followed by Greater Tzaneen (6).

The department says 95 353 tests have been conducted, of which 47 193 in the public sector and 48 160 in the private sector.
