SA’s Covid-19 recovery rate now at 89.6%

1 480 new cases of Covid-19 were identified in South Africa, bringing the total number of cases to 668 529.

As of Friday, 25 September, the country’s Covid-19 recoveries stood at 599 149, which translates to a recovery rate of 89.6%.

The Department of Health identified 1 480 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases to 668 529.

29 new Covid-19 related deaths were reported:

• 5 from Eastern Cape

• 5 from KwaZulu-Natal

• 5 from Gauteng

• 2 from Limpopo

• 8 from Northern Cape

• 4 from Western Cape

This brings the total number of Covid-19 related deaths to 16 312.

The total number of tests conducted to date is 4 117 079 with 14 917 new tests conducted since the last report.
