In a separate incident in the city’s Central Business District, police spotted a “suspicious” sedan with three occupants. “The vehicle was pulled off the road and searched. A short gun and air gun, as well as two rounds of live ammunition were found hidden in the vehicle. The men were unable to produce the licenses of the firearms and were arrested,” Ngoepe said.

The men are expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon, on charges of the possession of unlicensed firearms and the possession of unlicensed ammunition.
