Limpopo’s Covid-19 deaths rise to 384, recoveries to 13 954

According to the latest figures issued by the Limpopo Health Department, the province recorded 22 new Covid-19 deaths.

LIMPOPO – As of 24 September the province stands at 14 853 positive cases of which 515 cases are still active. A total of 13 954 people have recovered and 22 new deaths have been recorded, bringing the total to 384 deaths.

Of the new deaths, 21 people died in Polokwane while one person passed away in Mokgalakwena.

The department says 129 more Covid-19 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours; the majority in the Capricorn Districts (42). The Mopani District recorded 32 new cases, Waterberg 24, Sekhukhune 17 and Vhembe 13 new cases.

The most new cases were recorded in Polokwane (30) followed by 19 in Phalaborwa and 10 in Lepelle Nkumpi.

Thus far, 94 037 tests have been conducted. The majority of these tests were done by the private sector (47 493) while the public sector have done 46 544 tests.
