LIMPOPO – After losing his job, Masilo Ramalapa vowed to never work for someone again.
Residing in Moletsi Mabokelele village in Moletjie, Masilo is the proud owner and founder of The Shack Lifestyle, Chisanyama and Car Wash.
The Shack Lifestyle and Chisanyama specialises in grilled chicken, pork chops, cow head and tongue as well as steak which is served with two side dishes. The establishment opened its doors in March, during the nationwide lockdown, with the aim of providing good food to the community. They also host Sunday sessions.
Masilo told BONUS that he started the establishment to support his family and it is the first of its kind in the village.
“My target market includes villagers and taxi drivers and I serve them with pride. On a busy day, I can serve more than 50 customers and business is booming right now. I make sure that the food is mouth-watering and the treatment is unique,” he said. He added that they are negotiating for a bigger space for his business to grow and he has managed to create three permanent jobs.
“I make sure that I sell fresh food to my customers. Our unique mouth-watering taste is what sets us apart from the rest.
“Food plays a healing and joyful role in our lives and most importantly, it unites people, especially when it is well prepared with exceptional taste. I take my cooking seriously and love experimenting with various meats and flavours,” he said.
He says his newly-established business is doing very well and his goal is to open a fast food shop, soon. He says he is grateful for the support he has received thus far and that he will continue to deliver his exceptional service to keep his customers satisfied.
