[WATCH] Master KG and Nomcebo join Mediclinic Limpopo for #JerusalemaChallenge

At midday on Wednesday, 26 August, the parking lot of Mediclinic Limpopo Day Clinic came alive with staff participating in the Jerusalema Challenge.

POLOKWANE – MC Botha, Hospital General Manager of Mediclinic Limpopo and Mediclinic Limpopo Day Clinic noted that management saw a large morale boost among staff through their participation in the challenge. “This was organised by staff members themselves and included practices and other arrangements at a local level.”

The song by local artist, Master KG and Nomcebo, hit a 100 million views the day before and staff at the hospital were elated to have the duo perform at the challenge.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Mediclinic has noted the important role that healthcare workers have played within the community. With some relief to the pressure previously placed on all healthcare facilities, measures remain in place within Mediclinic to ensure the safety of all patients, staff and doctors.

“Our staff members are our biggest and most valuable asset and their mental and physical wellness has been a priority during this time. We have implemented a number of measures to assist our staff in maintaining a healthy balance during the pandemic. This included making online resources available, offering counselling at hospital level and training managers to identify and relieve stress within their teams,” says Botha.

“It is important to note that during recent months, many in our community have neglected their own health, by delaying care and we are now encouraging them to prioritise their health. By delaying regular check-up’s for chronic conditions, ignoring warning signs or urgent care, the patient is placing their health at further risk. Mediclinic is well prepared to safely receive patients. We would like to encourage our community to continue to adhere to the social distancing, wearing of masks and regular hand hygiene to reduce their risk of infection.”
