Muvex ICT: Making teaching and learning fashionable

Muvex ICT offers learners an online learning experience, offline

LIMPOPO – After realising that everything is changing, but the only thing that is not improving is teaching and learning, Khuliso Excellent Muvhango decided to come up with an offline learning solution.

“Muvex ICT allows students to study at their own time and without any limitations,” he told CV.

He added that his idea was inspired by the fact that little has changed in teaching, especially in rural areas, over many decades. “In many respects there are no improvements in the education system. The same methods used to teach in 1970 are still used today. I had to come up with a tech solution to make education fashionable again.”

Muvhango said Muvex ICT is a server that offers e-books, video lessons, notes, previous questions papers and study guides. “Our competitive advantage is that we don’t charge internet bundles to view our learning content, it is strictly offline.”

Born and raised in Nzhelele Tshavhalovhedzi, the 28-year-old studied a national diploma in business management at South West Gauteng College. It took him two full two years to complete Muvex, and he added that he came across challenges along the way.

“My main obstacles at the beginning, were resources, and people challenging the credibility of our products. But after we started working and improving learners’ results at school, we started gaining trust in the market.”

Muvhango’s hope is that Muvex will become the preferred Edtech company in Africa. “My major goal is to scale up the business to a national level, and in future we want to take over Africa.”

He can be reached at 25A Erasmus Street in Louis Trichardt. Alternatively, phone him at 076 523 9578, (015) 516 7312 or 061 506 7318.
