Fatal accident on R101: Road closed between Polokwane and Mokopane
This is following an earlier head-on collision between a bakkie and truck.
POLOKWANE – The R101 road between Polokwane and Mokopane is temporarily closed after a truck and bakkie collided head-on between Polokwane and Mokopane.
Mike Maringa, Spokesperson for the Department of Transport confirmed that one person died and two others were seriously injured.
“Emergency personnel are on the scene.”
Motorists using the R101 from Gauteng must join the N1 in Mokopane and those travelling from Polokwane must branch off to N1 after the Capricorn Weighbridge.
