Supermarket robber gang: Cops issue pics

The police have issued a photo of those who could assist in the investigation.

LIMPOPO – Those responsible for a robbery at a supermarket at a shopping mall in Lebowakgomo last year, are still at large.

According to a statement by Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, a group robbed the shop on 27 November 2019 at around 19:00.

“They were dressed in store uniform and pretended to be employees. One of the men was carrying rifles and pistols and entered the supermarket through the backdoor,” Ngoepe explained.

Ngoepe said the man threatened the cashiers to load money into a large plastic bag.

“The other persons joined their accomplice in the safe and managed to escape with an undisclosed amount,” Ngoepe added.

He mentioned that the men have not been identified and that the matter has since been taken over by provincial detectives for further investigation.

“The suspects are still unknown and there no arrests have been made yet. The police appeal to the persons seen in the pictures below, to avail themselves at the Lebowakgomo Police Station or at the nearest police station to assist the police with their investigations in this matter,” Ngoepe said.
