260 new Covid-19 related deaths, 3 954 new cases

South Africa has now recorded 11 270 Covid-19 related deaths.

The National Department of Health confirmed that 20 063 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, with 3 954 new cases. Regrettably,  260 more Covid-19 related deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 11 270: 68 from the Eastern Cape, 62 in the Free State, 30 from Gauteng, 39 from Kwa-Zulu Natal, 14 from Limpopo, 18 from Mpumalanga, 8 from the Northern Cape and 21 from the Western Cape.

The number of recoveries currently stands at 437 617, which translates to a recovery rate of 76%.
