Covid-19 recovery rate at 75,9%

According to the Department of Health, 432 029 people have recovered from the virus.

A total of 16 457 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, while 2 879 new cases were recorded. The department said 259 more Covid-19 related deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, which brings the total number of deaths to 11 010.

Gauteng recorded the most new deaths with 108, followed by 74 in KwaZulu-Natal, 46 in the Eastern Cape and 31 in the Western Cape.

In total, 568 919 people have tested positive for Covid-19, with a recovery rate of 75,9%.

A report by the National Institute For Communicable Diseases stated that of the cumulative cases, 328 438 are female, 236 167 are male and 4 312 cases are unknown.

Most of the cumulative cases include people between the ages of 30-34, followed by those between the ages of 35-39 years old.______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
