Limpopo Covid-19 cases surpass 10 500 mark

The most new cases were recorded in Polokwane.

LIMPOPO – The province saw an increase of 201 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours and currently stands at 10 519 of which 8 221 people have recovered.

The Limpopo Health Department said no deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours; 127 people have died from the virus in the province.

The Polokwane Municipality recorded the most new cases (70) while Ba-Phalaborwa, Greater Giyani and Thabazimbi each recorded 11 new cases.

Capricorn was the district that recorded the majority of new cases (78) while Mopani had 34 cases, Sekhukhune had 33 new cases, Waterberg had 27 new cases and Vhembe had 24 new cases.

Thus far, 69 368 tests have been conducted of which 35 719 were done by the public sector and 33 649 were done by the private sector.
