Limpopo Covid-19 cases rise to 9 353

The province saw an increase of 183 cases in the last 24 hours

LIMPOPO – According to the latest figures issued by the Limpopo Health Department, the province stands at 9 353 cases of which 2 507 are active. A total of 6 756 people have recovered and 90 deaths have been recorded.

A total of 183 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, of which the majority were reported in the Capricorn District; 73 were recorded in Polokwane, five in Lepelle Nkumpi, two in Molemole and one in Blouberg municipality.

The Sekhukhune district recorded the second most new cases, with 14 reported in Elias Motsoaledi, 14 in Makhuduthamaga, 11 in Fetakgomo Tubatse and four in Ephraim Mogale municipality.

A total of 24 new cases were reported in Mopani, 13 in Tzaneen, seven in Ba-Phalaborwa and two each in the Giyani and Letaba municipalities, respectively.

In Vhembe 20 new cases were recorded; 12 in Makhado, six in Thulamela and two in Musina. The Waterberg district recorded 15 cases, 10 in Thabazimbi and five in Mogalakwena. Three cases are in transit.

As of 5 August 64 584 tests have been conducted, 33 495 in the public sector and 31 089 private.
