23 more Covid-19 deaths in Limpopo

Polokwane has thus far recorded the most deaths in the province.

LIMPOPO – The province has seen an increase of 650 Covid-19 cases and 23 deaths thus far this month.

According to the latest figures issued by the Limpopo Health Department, the province stands at 9 177 cases of which 3 449 are active. A total of 5 638 people have recovered and 90 deaths have been recorded.

A total of 159 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, of which the majority were reported in Polokwane (34) and Thabazimbi (26).

The Waterberg district recorded the most new cases (48) followed by the Capricorn (46) and Mopani (29). The Vhembe district followed with 22 new cases and 14 in Sekhukhune.

Polokwane has recorded the most deaths (28), followed by Thulamele (10), Lepelle-Nkumpi (8), six in Makhado, five in Tzaneen and four in Bela-Bela. Three each were recorded in Blouberg, Makhuduthamaga, Elias Motsoaledi, and Collins Chabane municipalities, respectively. Two each were recorded in Ba-Phalaborwa, Giyani, Ephraim Mogale, Fetakgomo Tubatse, Mookgophong-Modimolle and Thabazimbi municipalities, respectively. One each was recorded in Molemole, Letaba, Maruleng, Musina and Mogalakwena municipalities.
