Power failure leads to water supply issues

The Polokwane Municipality said one of their water purification plants is unable to supply the city with water due to a power failure.

POLOKWANE – Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala says the Polokwane Municipality is aware of power failure on the Turfloop line.

Selala explained that the failure will affect the Dalmada area and that as a result, the Dalmada Purification Plant is unable to provide water to the city.

“The municipality has activated energy services to locate and fix the fault and restore supply to the area,” Selala said.

He added that water supply will also be restored once the electricity issue is resolved.

“All users are urged to report water and electricity challenges to the Municipal Call Centre at 015 023 5376 / 5629 for water and 015 023 5490 / 5705 for electricity,” he added.

Selala advised customers affected by the power failure, to treat all electrical wiring as live and switch off all appliances to avoid injury and damage when power supply is restored.
