These areas without electricity on Monday
The Polokwane Municipality has warned of insulators that need replacement and several areas will be affected by a planned power outage.
POLOKWANE – The Iota substation will be switched off on Monday, 3 August according to a statement by the Polokwane Municipality.
“This power supply interruption is necessary to enable the municipality’s electrical team to replace damaged 66 kilovolt (kV) insulators on the power supply line between Iota and Delta substations,” said Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala.
Selala added that Savannah Mall, Netcare Pholosho Hospital, Serala View, Thornhill Shopping Centre, Thornhill Estate, Marula Heights Estate, Northview Estate, Eagles Crest Estate and Waterberry Estate will be affected.
“Power supply will be interrupted from 06:00 and restored at 14:00, should everything go as planned. All affected areas are advised to treat all electrical wiring as live and to switch off all electrical appliances to avoid injury and damage once supply is restored,” Selala said.
He urged stakeholders to report electricity relating challenges to the Smart Meter Support Centre at 087 350 2770 or WhatsApp at 064 963 9609.
