Labour dispute keeps waste on Polokwane’s streets

The Polokwane Municipality says a labour dispute is the reason why waste has not been removed.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality attributed a labour dispute as the reason why waste collection was not done earlier in the week.

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala said in a statement that not all waste had been collected since Monday due to the labour dispute which as a result affected other routes within the municipality.

“Polokwane Municipality’s waste collection team is attending to the waste collection backlog across several household routes. The municipality is hard at work to ensure that the backlog is cleared,” Selala added.

Selala requested municipal customers to leave waste bags on identified collection spots so that these can be collected.
