Man shot, killed on citrus farm in Limpopo

The man was attacked while in the process of paying wages.

LIMPOPO – The police have launched a manhunt for three men following the murder of  39-year-old man at a citrus farm in Toitskraal outside Marble Hall on Saturday, 25 July.

Jeremias Solomone Macheque, an employee on the farm was attacked and shot while in the process of paying wages on behalf of his employer, said Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo.

Police reports indicate that Macheque was seated inside a vehicle, when he was accosted by three men, who held him at gunpoint and ordered him to hand over the money. During the incident he was shot and pulled out of his vehicle, before the robbers fled the scene in the vehicle.

Emergency services were alerted and upon arrival, emergency medical services (EMS) members certified the man dead on the scene.

The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned about 1 km away from the crime scene.
