Limpopo Covid-19 cases nearing 6 500 mark

The province saw an increase of 328 cases in the last 24 hours

LIMPOPO – The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Limpopo now stands at 6 424, with 3 265 recoveries and 64 deaths by Saturday, 25 July.

The cases have increased by 328 in the last 24 hours.

Of the 328 cases, 111 were reported in the Waterberg district, with Thabazimbi recording 58 new cases, 37 in Mogalakwena, 10 in Modimolle-Mookgophong, five in Lephalale and one in Bela-Bela.

A total of 82 cases were reported in the Capricorn district:  75 in Polokwane, 6 in Lepelle Nkumpi and one in Molemole.

In the Mopani district, 61 cases were recorded of which 28 were reported in Tzaneen, 15 in Giyani, 12 in Ba-Phalaborwa, four in Maruleng and two in Letaba.

Sekhukhune recorded 41 new cases, of which 14 were recorded in Fetakgomo Tubatse, 13 in Elias Motsoaledi, eight in Makhuduthamaga and six in Ephraim Mogale.

A total of 33 new cases were reported in the Vhembe district. 11 in Thulamela, 10 in Makhado, Collins Chabane six, and four in Musina.

The Health Department confirmed that 52 725 tests were conducted of which 27 509 in the public sector and 25 217 in the private sector.
