Limpopo Covid-19 cases rise to 6 112

The province saw an increase of 366 cases in the last 24 hours

LIMPOPO – The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Limpopo now stands at 6 112, with 3 043 recoveries and 64 deaths by Friday, 24 July.

The cases have increased by 366 in the last 24 hours.

Of the 366 cases, 120 were reported in the Waterberg district, with Thabazimbi recording 55 new cases, 27 in Lephalale, 22 in Mogalakwena, nine in Bela-Bela and seven in the Modimolle-Mookgophong.

A total of 95 cases were reported in the Capricorn district:  81 in Polokwane, 11 in Lepelle Nkumpi, two in Blouberg and one in Molemole.

Sekhukhune recorded 85 new cases, of which 50 were recorded in Fetakgomo Tubatse, 20 in Makhuduthamaga, nine in Elias Motsoaledi and six in Ephraim Mogale.

In the Mopani district, 34 cases were reported and 18 cases in Vhembe.

The Health Department confirmed that 51 833 tests were conducted of which 27 303 in the public sector and 24 530 in the private sector.
