Local post office hit by armed robbers
The men fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money early on Thursday morning.
POLOKWANE – People feared for their lives earlier today (Thursday) when armed robbers entered the Ladanna Post Office, ordering everyone to lie on the floor. According to an eyewitness the incident occurred around 08:45 and the men demanded money.
“At the time of the robbery there were only a few people in the Post Office, who knows what would have happened if there were more people in the building,” the eyewitness stated. The armed robbers fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police officials arrived short after and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel attended to two injured employees.
According to EMS worker, Winston Kgonyane one employees sustained injuries to her hand, while the other employee sustained injuries to her back. He says both employees were taken to the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital for treatment.
