Polokwane and Mokopane police stations open

The stations were closed for decontamination after some of their members tested positive for Covid-19.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane and Mokopane police stations are full operational following their closure over the weekend. The Northam Police Station was also closed and will be fully operational on Wednesday, 22 July.

POLOKWANE – Three more police stations in the province; Polokwane, Mokopane and Northam, have been closed for decontamination after some of their members tested positive for Covid-19.

Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said in a statement that temporary arrangements for the provision of policing services have been made.

“The telephone lines at Polokwane, Mokopane and Northam police stations will not be accessible for the duration of the closure. Members of the community from the affected station precincts are advised to use 086 001 0111 for emergencies and the numbers provided for all other complaints,” Mojapelo said.

Temporary arrangements: 

Polokwane: Services will be rendered from the mobile Community Service Centre that has been placed in the parking area next to the station in Schoeman Street. The numbers to call are 079 889 5794 or 015 296 7000/9. The police station will again be fully operational on Monday, 20 July.

Mokopane: Services will be rendered from the Social Crime Prevention office at No 21 Retief Street behind the main gate of Mokopane Police Station. The number to call is 015 409 1411 or 079 801 5127. The station will again be fully operational on Monday, 20 July.

Northam: Services will be rendered from a mobile Community Service Centre situated in front of the station. The number to call is 079 890 0664. The station will again be fully operational on Wednesday, 22 July.
