‘I’ll build you a house’

A mother of five children was overjoyed after a Good Samaritan realised her plight of living in a one-roomed shack

LIMPOPO – A mother of five, Munyadziwa Musundwa of Ha-Maelula, and her children were overjoyed when a Good Samaritan from Gauteng visited the family last Saturday and pledged to build them a three-roomed house.

A fortnight ago, CV published the story of the poor woman and her family. The family was sharing a small, one-room shack.

Olorunfemi Adedoying Adeleke, the Director of the Halifax Group, noticed the heart-breaking living conditions of the woman and her family and decided to drive from Gauteng and pledge to build them a house. “When we give to those who do not have, we demonstrate the kind of love that God has,” said Adeleke.

Musundwa could not hold back her tears of joy as Adeleke promised to build the house in a month’s time. “God is great! I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would one day have a house. Life was tough for me and my children. When it rained, we had to sit throughout the night as the water was everywhere. Sometimes, thieves would break in and steal whatever was in the house.”She said the pledge came at the right time because she did not have any shelter. We initially thought that the people in the rural areas were neglected, but we are very thankful because we know that there are people who care out there,” she added.

Thelma Ramabulana from the royal family acknowledged the pledge to build a house for the poor family. Ramabulana stated that most of the families consisted of unemployed people and they needed assistance from the community. “They did not choose to be poor and they need to be uplifted by those who can do something for them.”

She appealed to other residents and businesses to assist the poor in the development of society and mentioned that the donation was based “on love and brotherhood”.
