Scenes from Cape Town as cold front hits
The cold front has battered the city with gale force wind and high seas. Residents and visitors to the city took to Twitter to share their photos and videos #CapeStorm.
A cold front arrived in Cape Town early this morning and brought with it chilly, wet and windy weather.
A warning issued by the South African Weather Service stated that a strong off shore low pressure system, with the cold front over the Western Cape, resulted in gale to strong gale force winds, high to very high seas and storm surges. The service also warned of winds between 80-100km/h .
