More than 8 000 new Covid-19 cases in SA

Globally, the US leads the rankings with just over 5,2 million cases.

According to the National Department of Health, 92 more people died of Covid-19 as on 1 July, bringing the total number of deaths to 2 749.

A total of 36 931 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, with 8 124 new cases reported, the total number of cases now stands at 159 333, with 76 025 recoveries.

Globally, the Covid-19 cases stand at more than 10,3 million with almost 510 000 deaths. The US still leads the rankings with the most Covid-19 cases, just more than 5,2 million, followed by Europe with 2,7 million.
