Limpopo: Covid-19 cases up by more than 100 in 24 hours

Polokwane and Lephalale recorded the most cases in this period.

LIMPOPO – The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province has risen to 1 147, with 130 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.

On Wednesday, 1 July the Department of Health confirmed that the province currently has 538 recoveries, 599 active cases and 10 deaths.

Of the 103 news cases 26 were reported in Polokwane, 23 in Lephalale, 18 in Thabazimbi,  14 in Elias Motsoaledi, 10 in Ephraim Mogale, eight in Mogalakwena, five in Tzaneen, four in Bela Bela, three in Fetagkomo Tubatse, three in Thulamela, three in Collins Chabane, two in Letaba, two in Makhuduthamaga, two in Makhado, and one each in Blouberg, Lepelle Nkumpi, Molemole, Ba-Phalaborwa, Giyani and Modimolle-Mookgophong districts, respectively. One case was not allocated.

To date 31 254 tests have been conducted of which 18 328 were in the public and 12 926 at private laboratories.
