2 injured in farm attack outside Mokopane

Both victims sustained injuries during the attack and were treated on the scene by emergency medical services.

MOKOPANE – An armed robbery on a farm outside of Mokopane has left two people injured.

The attacked happened at around 08:00 on Friday on a farm 15km outside the town on the Percy Fyfe.

Hennie de Vos, from Afriforum Reaction Unit confirmed the attack and told Bosveld that seven men had stormed the property and had attacked the owner of the farm. In the process the owner and another person were tied up and robbed of a firearm. The attackers also stole an undisclosed amount.

One of the injured victims managed to untie himself. The attackers fled the scene in a vehicle which belongs to the owner of the farm.

De Vos confirmed that the police found the vehicle, a Nissan MP200 bakkie, abandoned.

Members from the Heritage Protection Group together with the emergency services, police, security groups as well as the neighbourhood watch are still on the scene. All seven attackers are still being tracked, De Vos confirmed.
