The Capricorn College for Technical Vocational and Training (TVET) officially welcomed back their report 191 N6 learners who make up 33% of their student population, on Thursday, 25 June.
This morning saw students queuing outside the main gate, which has been converted to the campus’ only entrance, while maintaining their social distancing. The students were required to wear face masks in order to enter the premises and were sanitised at three points before they were allowed to proceed to class. A Covid-19 self assessment form and temperatures scanning also formed part of the requirements for entry.
Campus Manager Thomas Muleya, says the college has made sure to observe all set regulations as set out by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). “We have procured enough sanitiser, face masks and temperature scanners to accommodate all our students.”
Management of the campus also met with the MEC for Health, Dr Phophi Ramathuba and the DHET regional manager, Frans Ramonyatse, three weeks ago to monitor their readiness. The campus was found to be in adherence of all the stipulated requirements.
