Polokwane records 2nd death

The first Covid-19 death was recorded on 11 June

LIMPOPO – Polokwane has recorded eight new cases in the last 24-hours and it’s second Covid-19 related death, a 49-year-old man.

According to the latest figures issued by the Department of Health the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Limpopo escalated by 40 in the last day and now stands at 566.

The department confirmed the of the 40 new cases nine are in Thabazimbi, eight in Polokwane, four in Fetakgomo Tubatse, four in Greater Tzaneen, two in Motsaoaledi, two in Ba-Phalaborwa, two in Musina, two in Thumalmela, and one each in Lepelle-Nkumpi, Giyani, Letaba, Makhado, Lephalale and Mogalakwena areas, respectively. One case is in transit/unallocated.

The province currently stands on 256 recoveries, five deaths with 305 active cases.

A total of 27 378 tests have been conducted with more than 88% of the positive cases in the private sector.
