Dept of Transport in Polokwane closes after employee tests positive for Covid-19

The offices will be closed for a week

POLOKWANE – The provincial office of the Department of Transport and Community Safety in Polokwane has decided to temporarily close their doors after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday, 22 June.

The Department confirmed in a statement that the offices will be closed effectively from Tuesday, 23 June until Monday 29 June.

The temporary closure is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all employees, says Departmental Media Liaison Officer, Mike Maringa.

The affected staffer is currently in self-isolation.

Maringa added that the building will be disinfected during the temporary closure to ensure the safety of staff and visitors to the department.

“All the district offices will remain open for service.”
