Cases scheduled for this week were rescheduled and the offices temporarily closed.

POLOKWANE – The local branch of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) temporarily closed their doors following a positive case of Covid-19.

In a statement on Sunday, 21 June the organisation confirmed posItive cases of Covid-19 in their Polokwane and Klerksdorp regional offices.

The affected parties have since received medical attention and are currently in isolation. The oganisation also advised staff members who may have been in contact with the affected members to seek medical attention and quarantine, reads the statement.

In the interest of safeguarding the health and well-being of their staff an visitors to the offices, the CCMA made the decision to temporarily close the Polokwane Regional Office based at CCMA House, 104 Hans van Rensburg Street. This is to ensure the that all health and safety regulations are adhered to and the building is disinfected and sanitised before re-opening.

As a result, all cases that were scheduled for hearings at the local office between  Monday, 22 June and Tuesday, 23 June, will be rescheduled. However, cases scheduled for hearing in alternative venues will proceed as scheduled.

They further advised users may still make referrals and applications using the CCMA’s digital case referral and application platform, made available from Monday, 8 June 2020.
