‘If I could be a dad for a day’

Some already have children, while for others this may be a thought in the distance future.  Fact remains – what type of dad would you make?

POLOKWANE – Dads are the salt of the earth; they play a pivotal role in their children’s lives and in commemoration of our everyday supermen on Father’s Day Sunday, Review spoke to young people to find out what they would do if they were a dad for a day.

Eben Smit: If I were a dad for one day, I would be a farmer and take my children to camp. I would eat lots of sweets and watch television.

Zuhan Labuschagne: If I were a dad for a day, I would be the best dad I could be. I will learn the best guidance and wisdom so that my children can learn the right values from me. And of course, I will teach my son how to pack a braai.

Juan Potgieter: I would love to have four children one day. A day alone would not be enough to teach them everything I want to. I want to teach my children to love and respect others, to have manners and to work hard. I would support them in everything they do and dream of doing. I would teach them to love God above everything else.

Hanyani Siwela: I would make sure that I have a conversation with my children saying all the positive affirmations that I never got to hear growing up.

Success Chauke: I would make sure that I am a dad not to just my children but to other small boys who have don’t have their fathers present in their lives. I would take the day to do something with them, either watching a soccer match or going fishing as a group.

Nyiko Maswanganyi: I would shower my children with affection. I would make sure that by the end of the day, they are sorted with an affection overload to last them a lifetime.
