[VIDEO] Health MEC does site inspection at TVET College

33% of the college’s student population will return to the campus in two weeks.

POLOKWANE – Capricorn Tvet College will welcome back 33% of its student population in two weeks. As part of the Covid-19 monitoring programme the Health MEC, Phophi Ramathuba conducted a site inspection at the college on Monday morning. The inspection was to see whether the institution has adhered to the Covid-19 guidelines set by the Department of Higher Education and the Department of Health.

As part of the inspection, Campus Manager, Thomas Muleya took the MEC on a tour through the campus to indicate what measures the institution has put in place to fight the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a video interview, Ramathuba told Review that the department is satisfied that the campus has invested in the key areas such as social distancing, protective wear and sanitisation.

The MEC also called for students to do their bit in fighting the virus, by adhering to Covid-19 regulations not just on campus, but at their places of accommodation too.

“Before your sign your rental agreement, make sure that you will be safe. It will be sad if all the measures that the campus has put in place, are in vain if a student is infected outside of the campus grounds and then infects their fellow students on campus,” she concluded.
