ANC conference postponed
Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 some few months ago, the highly awaited ANC Vhembe Regional Conference which was scheduled to be held from 29 to 31 May has been postponed until further notice.
LIMPOPO – This is according to the Spokesperson, Tshifhiwa Dali, who added that branches and structures will be informed in due course about the new date and venue for the conference. In the meantime, the contestation for the seat of ANC Vhembe Regional Chairperson is between Dowelani Nenguda, who is the current Deputy Chairperson of the ANC Vhembe Region and also serving as the Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Municipality, and Advocate Makonde Mathivha, the former Thulamela Municipal Manager.
The proposed line-up for the conference includes Chairperson Dowelani Nenguda, Deputy Chairperson Anderson Mdunungu, Secretary Percy Mashimbye; Deputy Secretary Matodzi Ralushai, Treasurer Mihloti Muhlophe, while in the Mathivha camp, there is as Chairperson, Advocate Makonde Mathivha, as Deputy Chairperson, Moses Maluleke, Secretary, Rudzani Ludere, Deputy Secretary, Siyaphi Shirilele and Treasurer Samuel Munyai.
The district of Vhembe has 127 ANC branches with Nenguda enjoying the support of 97 branches. Vhembe is the second largest district from Mopani, which has 129 branches.
