[WATCH] Mokopane residents embrace lift on sale of liquor ban

Liquor stores across town are set to experience a boom today, as the ban on the sale of liquor has been eased.

MOKOPANE – Liquor stores experienced a  flood of customers this morning as residents woke up to government’s level three restrictions of the nationwide lockdown, which allow for the sale of liquor for consumption at home.

Ian van der Merwe, owner of Tops Mokopane, said that the store has put precautionary and safety measures in place as required by government, and among others, only a few customers will be allowed in the store at a time, and the sale of goods will be limited per customer.

He added that they follow a sanitising procedure and that customers will be required to wear masks.

He said he was grateful for the fact that business could resume as normal after a closure of more than two months.
