Dagga worth R800 000: Gogo sentenced

The woman was earlier arrested following a tip-off.

LIMPOPO – A 63-year-old woman was on Thursday, 28 May sentenced to two years’ imprisonment with the option of a fine, by the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court.

Her arrest came after a tip-off led detectives in Tzaneen, assisted by the K9-unit, to a premises in Bolobedu South last Wednesday. A total of 14 bags of dagga, which weighed 211,2 kg were found on the premises.

The woman was arrested and the dagga, with an estimated street value of over R800 000, was confiscated.

Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo says the woman was found guilty of dealing in dagga. “She was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment or a R4 000 fine, of which R2 000 was suspended for five years,” he confirmed.
