Covid-19 cases increase by 1 673 to 25 937
The Western Cape now accounts for 65,1% of South Africa’s infections.
South Africa’s Covid-19 cases have increased by 1 673 to 25 937. This was announced by the Minister for Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize on Wednesday.
To date, the country has seen 13 451 recoveries, which translates to a 52% recovery rate. A total of 28 new deaths were recorded, bringing the total number to 552.
A total of 634 996 tests have been conducted with 29 005 tests done in the last 24 hours.
The private sector has conducted 10 940 new tests, bringing the total number of tests conducted to 309 990. The public sector has conducted 18 065 new tests, bringing the total to 325 006.
The Western Cape now accounts for 65,1% of South Africa’s infections with a total of 16 893, followed by Gauteng at 12,2% with 3 167 total cases.
