#WFD – Orange and Soy Roasted Chicken

POLOKWANE – For most people, orange goes well with chocolate, but did you know it goes well with chicken too?

Looking for something new and interesting to do with your chicken? What’s for Dinner says this zesty chicken recipe uses only five ingredients and is a great summer dish.

Ingredients

  1. 15ml soy sauce
  2. 2 oranges (keep the orange peel aside, zest and juice)
  3. 1.4kg chicken, whole
  4. 1 x KNORR Chicken Stock Pot
  5. 10ml white sugar

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. Wash and dry the chicken and place in a roasting pan.
  3. In a small bowl, combine KNORR Chicken Stock Pot, a dash of boiling water, orange zest and juice, soy sauce and sugar to make a paste.
  4. Using a pastry brush, brush the paste all over the outside of the chicken as well as inside the cavity.
  5. Place the left over orange peel inside the cavity of the chicken.
  6. Place chicken inside the oven, reduce the heat to 180°C and roast for 45 minutes or until cooked through.
