Laptops worth R120 K stolen from Limpopo school

Police appeals to anyone with information about this incident or about someone selling suspected stolen HP laptops to contact them immediately

LIMPOPO – The police are looking for an unknown number of people responsible for the robbery of school equipment worth R120 000 at a school in the Makhado area this past weekend.

The incident happened at Jonathan Thifhulufhelwi Secondary School at Madombidzha village between Friday, 1 April and Saturday, 2 April and Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo says in a statement that the security guard became aware of the burglary while patrolling the premises on Saturday. The principal of the school alerted the police of the incident.

On arrival the officers found that the suspects had gained entry to the storeroom where the laptops were kept. Prior to the robbery, the suspects cut the electrical cables to disable the alarm systems and then cut the burglar door of the store room. Mojapelo adds that 24 laptops worth R120 000 were stolen during the incident.

The police appeals to anyone with information about this incident or about or someone selling HP laptops, to contact the Station Commander of Tshilwavhusiku Lt Col Maphefo Matshavha at 082 451 7163. Alternatively they can also contact the 24-hour Crime Stop number at 086 001 0111 or the nearest police station.

A case of burglary business has been opened and police investigations still continue.
